Since no two Business Talent Group clients are exactly alike, the end-to-end processes of serving their project and talent needs can vary. While our team is dedicated to moving quickly, delays may arise as the client considers their options. As such, it may take some time for us to provide an update on their decision when you apply to an opportunity.
To provide more context and clarity on what happens before and after you apply to a BTG opportunity, here’s a quick look behind the scenes on how we serve our clients’ needs.
The BTG Service Process
When BTG receives a project or talent need, we first meet with the client to scope out the opportunity and begin shaping a talent solution that meets their needs. During this process, we assess the client’s problem or opportunity, as well as any unique aspects about the company’s culture, processes, or regulatory requirements.
Often a client may not know exactly what they need to tackle their project or the exact contours of an interim role they need to fill. In such cases, BTG’s dedicated service team can help identify the key requirements and propose unique solutions, such as pairing an operationally minded project manager with strategic consultants or a functional or subject matter expert.
With the client’s needs fully scoped out, any associated opportunities get posted under the Projects section of the BTG Talent Portal. Each listing contains a project summary, the date it was posted, where it’s located, type of working arrangement (remote, hybrid, or on-site), the budget, the project start date, and the proposed project duration.
As talent submit applications, the BTG team begins vetting candidates and presenting talent who best fit the client’s needs. Once the client aligns on their top candidates, we coordinate interviews between talent and stakeholders within the client’s organization. The timing for this stage of the process can vary depending on how many stakeholders need to meet the candidates and provide their input on talent selection.
Prior to the project start, we take care of contracting and compliance. While streamlined, more variables can arise at this time. Once any issues are resolved and contracts are complete, the project can kick off.
Application Statuses
You can check the status of any projects you’ve applied to under the Applications tab within the Projects section of the BTG Talent Portal. Here are the statuses you’ll see and how they correspond to each stage of our service process:
Reviewing Application – After you have submitted an application, it will be marked with this status until you have been selected for an interview or the opportunity has closed.
Interviewing – If you are selected for an interview, you will see this status until you’re engaged on the project or the opportunity has closed.
In Progress – This status indicates that your application has been selected for an engagement or is in the offer stage prior to project kickoff. Your application will remain in this status until the project is completed.
Closed – The opportunity has been officially closed out. Our client has either decided to move forward with another applicant or is taking the project in a different direction.
